Mechanical Technician

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for supervising and or carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on board related to the propulsion system machinery installations and to the mechanical field The candidate will perform minor mechanical works including welding repairing disassembling assembling failure analysis etc Roles and Responsibilities supervise and coordinate the crew in the correct execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activitiescarry out preventive and corrective maintenance not falling under onboard crew responsibility provide support to the original equipment manufacturer OEM for preventive and corrective maintenance not falling under the responsibility of the onboard crewperform the activities necessary for the resolution of warranty claims and ensure their correct execution and resolution verify compliance with contractual and safety regulationsperform harbour and sea trials of the equipment as when deemed necessary by the companythe technician may be asked to participate on an occasional basis in the transfer of the ship from one port to another including outside Qatar
