Job Description
1. JOB DETAILS:
Job Title: Chiller Plant Operator
Reports to: Facilities Engineer
Department: Maintenance
Location: FM Qatar
2. JOB PURPOSE:
To Perform the Operation & Maintenance of centrifugal chillers, pumps & cooling towers, Trouble shooting
and repairing activity of the chillers, pumps, cooling tower & AHU equipment in the facilities management and
casual job project.
3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Specify the output required from the job. Identify not more than 7 Key
Accountabilities & their performance indicators. NB-Focus on outcomes not tasks
Description Performance Indicators
Hands on experience in operation and maintenance of
centrifugal chillers, pumps, valves, cooling towers.
Strong monitoring skill to identify the sound level of
equipment’s
Monitoring & taking the readings every hours of the
centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers etc.
Maintain the chilled water temperature constantly.
Monitoring the secondary pump VFD frequency & flow
asper the required demand load.
Strong monitoring skill of chiller oil level, refrigerant level
& vane actuator function.
Knowledge of condenser descaling
Basic operation of primary & secondary pump
Monitoring the blowdown and record in logbook.
Maintain the breakdown log
Maintain the condenser makeup water tank level
Hands on experience in repairing of pumps, valves, AHUs,
FAHU, FCU etc.
Cleaning the cooling towers & PPM
Support with PPM team
Plan to consume the water & electricity
Basic knowledge & operation of BMS
Monitoring the chemical dozing system and maintain the
chemical level.
Check & confirm the parameters of monthly third party
water analysis report.
Monitoring the condenser water & chilled water PH &
conductivity
Maintain the log of chemical stock
Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
Handing over the responsibility to other shift
4. JOB CONTEXT: Define organizational policy and other factors that have a critical impact on the
job
Internal Work Relationships within Group:
Coordinate with Engineers, supervisors to carry out the repair, corrective actions and preventive maintenance.
Update the work completion and status in daily basis.
Safety: Liaise with safety officer, report on worker safety practices.
External Work Relationships:
Need to understand the requirements of customer needs and act accordingly in a swift manner.
5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Geographical Experience: ITI or Diploma with good knowledge of centrifugal chillers & HVAC equipment
Maintenance and Repairs & installation.
Industry Experience:
10 years out of which 6 years’ experience in the Middle East.
People Skills:
Good English Communication & writing kills
Problem-Solving and conflict-resolution skills and their needs.
Academic Degree(s):
ITI or Diploma
