Rationale
The Inclusion Teacher supports the Head of Inclusion and Inclusion Coordinator to ensure that Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision is efficiently and effectively managed, meeting all legal and statutory requirements as per Qatar MOEHE. The Inclusion Teacher leads a dedicated Inclusion classroom for students with additional needs, delivering high quality teaching through an adapted curriculum and developing and delivering Individual Education Plans. The role is part of a multi-disciplinary Inclusion team supporting students on Tier 1, 2 and 3 of the Inclusion Register in dedicated classrooms.
Key Duties and Areas of Responsibility
Learning and Teaching
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a dedicated classroom for students with additional learning needs : provide individualized support to SEN students, tailoring teaching methods, materials, and activities to suit each student’s learning styles and requirements.
- Work with subject teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment where SEN students participate meaningfully in all lessons and receive additional support as needed.
Assessment and Monitoring of Progress
Assess and track progress of students with SEN through regular observation and documentation of academic and social performance using formative and summative assessments.Collaborate with the Inclusion Coordinator to ensure IEPs address needs and monitor academic progress, adjusting teaching approaches based on data.IEP Process and Implementation
Involve in the IEP process with the Inclusion Coordinator, teachers, parents and other professionals to develop and review Individualised Education Plans (IEPs).Ensure IEPs are implemented effectively, adjusting teaching practices to meet evolving needs and conduct IEP reviews with stakeholders.Curriculum Planning and Adaptation
Plan and adapt the curriculum to meet diverse SEN needs; collaborate with subject teachers to ensure lesson plans are inclusive and accessible.Differentiate instruction and assessment to accommodate varying abilities while maintaining meaningful engagement.Subject and Curriculum Knowledge
Have a strong understanding of the school’s curriculum across grade levels; ensure SEN students can access and participate in all subject areas.Provide guidance to teachers on appropriate content modification or delivery to support SEN needs; stay updated on inclusive curriculum best practices.Collaboration with Therapists and Specialists
Collaborate with in-house therapists and specialists (e.g., speech, occupational therapy) to create a holistic support system for each student.Inclusion and Advocacy
Promote an inclusive and supportive classroom environment; ensure SEN students are included in all class activities and advocate for their needs.Professional Development and Reflection
Engage in training and reflect on teaching practices; stay updated with SEN education research and strategies; seek feedback for continuous improvement.Behaviour Management and Wider Responsibilities
Manage behaviour to create a safe learning environment; implement school policies on behaviour; maintain relationships with students and colleagues; contribute to extra-curricular activities and parent communication where relevant.Health and Safety and Professional Conduct
Complete health and safety responsibilities and maintain professional conduct ethically and responsibly; comply with school policies and local expectations, including safeguarding.Other Duties

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in teaching from an accredited institution – Special Education.Required teaching certification for Qatar MOEHE.Meet professional teacher education requirements of school.Child Care and Protection.Experience
Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience.
Language
English is mandatory.
