Accountabilities
The job holder will be responsible for the following activities during project execution within the Major Projects Division :
Provide welding engineering, metallurgy, and non-destructive testing expertise across various projects.
Implement the company’s technical referential and ensure compliance with applicable local and international codes and standards.
Support projects during FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, transportation, and offshore installation phases.
Interface with the Engineering and Construction Department, particularly with the Technical Reference Person (TRP), for the management of technical derogations.
Key Responsibilities
Promote and comply with all applicable safety instructions and HSE procedures.
Perform duties in alignment with company values, policies, regulations, and industry best practices.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all project-related information.
Prepare Welding Project Particular Specifications.
Develop technical RFQs for materials and welding scopes of work when required.
Review and validate welding matrices, WPSs, PQRs, welding books, production tests, and heat treatment processes.
Participate in contractor and vendor kick-off and pre-inspection meetings.
Support and witness welding qualifications, welder qualifications, and test laboratory activities as required.
Evaluate the performance of personnel involved in welding activities.
Review and validate NDT procedures and method statements.
Approve welding and material documentation through the company’s document management system.
Promote quality across all projects and provide technical and quality-related advice.
Contribute to the resolution of technical queries, deviation requests, NCRs, and concessions.
Lead investigations of significant quality issues and participate in supplier and contractor audits.
Provide weekly and monthly status reports, including KPIs, on welding, metallurgy, and NDT activities.
Contribute to project close-out and issue lessons learned, quality feedback notices, and improvement recommendations.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Education : Master’s degree in Welding Engineering; ESSA / IWE / EWE certifications preferred.
Experience :
Minimum 15 years in a similar position.
At least 10 years of experience in topsides fabrication and subsea pipeline laying, including automatic welding processes.
Strong expertise in ECA and associated testing.
Comprehensive knowledge of welding, materials, corrosion (including SSCC), and NDE.
Proven leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in complex, multicultural project environments.
Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant engineering tools.
Valid H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET certifications.
