Mechanical Lead

Purpose of the position : Mechanical Lead

How can you support us? Here are your responsibilities :

Ensure correct application of Material Science know how within Upstream, Downstream and Subsea from the Conceptual

Design up to FEED Phase of Projects, also in accordance to Project / Client requirements and Company HSE Management

System

Ensure Material design activities and preparation of project documents under the coordination of the referent Lead

Support the referent project Lead in complying with project costs, time, objectives, quality, contractual requirements and

applicable laws and standards.

Support Bids and Project execution in the definition of the most effective and competitive solutions for Materials Selection

Interface with all Project disciplines about Material requirements, activities and assessment during Project Acquisition and

Execution.

Define requirements regarding Painting, Coating, Insulation systems, Welding and Cathodic Protection (CP) systems and

NDT techniques.

Perform the Asset Integrity Assessment for existing facilities

Execute the activities for Acquisition and Execution phases, supporting the Technical Lead

Produce and update / follow-up technical documentation within his field of activity. Tasks to be performed can include the

following :

• Evaluation of Corrosion Mechanism and compatibiltiy with Material with Fluids
• Evaluation of applicability of International Standards and Rules for Material selection
• Definition of Critical Services
• Perform the corrosion rate calculation by using recognized models and software in order to define the Material

Selection and Corrosion Monitoring for Equipment and Piping.

Ensure that project documents are prepared, verified and approved according to Saipem and project procedures

Support the Lead to analyze and review the contractual documents

Support the Lead to define the discipline list of activities, list of deliverables, time schedule

Provide technical support in purchase requisitions, Technical Bids Evaluations and follow-up activities

Support the Lead to monitor performance indicators in accordance with technical instruction

Collaborate to interdisciplinary review of documents, within his field of activity

Suggest and report the evaluation of the design changes to the original scope of work and ensure implementation of the

approved changes under Lead instruction

Report to the referent project Lead / Manager critical situations and lessons learned
