The Salon Receptionist is responsible for greeting guests upon arrival, answering inquiries about salon services and products (via phone, email, or in person), processing appointment bookings, registering guests in the system, and managing payment transactions for services rendered. Success in this role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage clients with professionalism and grace, especially during busy periods. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming. Maintain impeccable grooming standards that reflect the salon’s image. Uphold communication ethics, particularly when speaking with clients over the phone. Provide exceptional customer service, including welcoming guests, handling their departure, retaining client details, and addressing complaints. Prepare daily income reports and submit them to the Salon Supervisor. Ensure all printing materials (e.g., brochures, menus) are stocked and available. Track service times and ensure technicians are adhering to schedules.
Address guest needs promptly while maintaining a professional and pleasant demeanor. Maintain a strong working knowledge of the salon’s computer and booking systems. Efficiently handle customer complaints and escalate to the Salon Supervisor when necessary. Manage cash sales and ensure accurate transactions. Promote, up-sell, and cross-sell salon products and services. Clearly explain salon products, services, and treatments to clients, and help them identify their individual needs. Follow up with clients to confirm appointments and ensure satisfaction. Perform other administrative tasks as required.
