Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver English lessons (reading, writing, speaking, listening) that are engaging, relevant, and aligned with the school’s curriculum (e.g. British, IB, American).
Use differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all students, including those learning English as an additional language.
Assess student progress regularly (formative & summative assessments), provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of achievement.
Develop and review schemes of work, lesson plans, and resources; ensure they meet curriculum standards.
Create a positive, safe, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
Support students’ development of critical thinking, language analysis, and literary appreciation (if covering literature).
Communicate with parents / guardians about student progress, behavior, and areas for improvement.
Participate in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the English department.
Respect and integrate local culture, values and traditions into teaching practices where appropriate.
Ideal Profile
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or in a related field.
