The school has a long history of exceptional success, and we are looking to appoint an outstanding Head of MFL (Secondary school) to join our highly committed team of professionals.

The Role

This role is for a Head of Modern Foreign Languages with the necessary qualifications and experience to lead the MFL department and teach Spanish to A-level. The successful candidate will be expected to provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement across the department. Responsibilities include leading and supporting a team of teachers, overseeing curriculum development for both Spanish and French, and maintaining professional standards. The role also involves quality assurance of teaching and learning, analysing assessment data to drive continuous improvement, and contributing to whole-school initiatives.

In addition, the Head of Department will fulfill the duties of a Secondary School teacher, including serving as a form tutor, offering extra-curricular opportunities, attending planning and professional development meetings after school, and participating in other school events as required. The candidate must demonstrate expertise in teaching British qualifications and possess a proven track record of improving student progress across all ability levels.
