Job Description
Job Summary :
The Production Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing production and fabrication activities on offshore installations or vessels. This role ensures that structural, piping, and mechanical works are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with technical specifications, project schedules, and offshore regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
Plan and coordinate daily production activities related to steel fitting, welding, mechanical assembly, or piping installation on offshore assets (platforms, barges, FPSOs, etc.).
Interpret engineering drawings, work packs, and technical specifications to guide execution teams.
Supervise subcontractors and production crews to ensure adherence to design, safety, and quality standards.
Monitor productivity, material usage, manpower allocation, and progress against project milestones.
Coordinate with QA / QC, HSSE, logistics, and engineering teams to resolve technical or operational issues.
Support and participate in offshore installation campaigns, hook-up, and commissioning activities.
Maintain daily reports on production progress, delays, and resource utilization.
Ensure compliance with offshore safety procedures, PTW systems, and regulatory standards.
Review method statements, risk assessments, and lift plans as applicable.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of offshore construction practices and project execution
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Structural Engineering (or related field).
- Minimum 3–5 years of production engineering experience in offshore environments (e.g., oil & gas platforms, FPSOs, offshore wind, heavy marine structures).
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings (structural, piping, mechanical) and work packs.
- Familiarity with offshore fabrication and installation methods (e.g., topside module installation, subsea structures, hook-up).
- Working knowledge of industry standards (e.g., API, ASME, AWS, ISO, DNV, ABS).
- Valid BOSIET / HUET / OGUK Medical – mandatory for offshore work.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera – preferred).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in multicultural offshore teams.
