Summary :
The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Arts Qatar (VCUarts Qatar) is recruiting for the Fall 2025 semester within the Graphic Design program. The program is specifically looking for an instructor or more to teach one or more courses as follows :
Typical Duties :
Semester course; 1 lecture and 6 studio hours. 4 credits. This course is designed to explore, identify and develop models that allow students to shape their visual mode of expression. Through a series of projects, students will investigate different physical and digital tools to produce image-based solutions. The projects will explore language as a system and a mode of expression and introduce the student to the vast number of typefaces and ways to critically evaluate them and develop a process of formal, historical, and semantic considerations in selecting typefaces. These projects will encourage different experiences in creative problem-solving methodologies and idea-generating processes; all the while working with technology to bring the projects to a visually completed form. This class does not intend to give the student a complete set of answers to all design problems, rather it will introduce the numerous considerations that a designer can approach when dealing with form and how it relates to image and typography. It will be the student's job to demonstrate their ability to organise and relate a diverse set of explorations & experimentations in a visually meaningful way.
