Wood is actively seeking Expressions of Interest for a Senior Electrical Engineer role to support future growth in our expanding business. The role will support project delivery across FEED, Pre‑FEED, Brownfield and Greenfield scopes. Responsibilities include the execution of project work in accordance with the project execution plan, Wood and / or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control within defined man‑hour, cost and schedule targets. The assignment is long‑term and based in Qatar.

Job Responsibilities
Self‑starter able to produce electrical deliverables with little input or guidanceGood understanding of international codes and standards and their applicationHigh competency in electrical system design (single‑line diagrams, protection and control schemes)Experience developing and issuing deliverables such as Electrical Design Basis, Specifications, Load Schedules, Protection and metering schemes, calculations, power system studies, relay settings, lighting and earthing design, electrical layouts and vendor enquiry packagesReviewing and checking deliverables for accuracy and alignment with scope before issueFamiliarity with SKM, ETAP or SPEL software packagesLead Engineer or discipline technical authority on small‑to‑medium projects, responsible for cost, schedule, resources and riskSupervise a small group of engineers and designers, providing coaching and guidancePerform managerial tasks such as assigning tasks, preparing scopes, schedules, budgets, attending project meetings and developing technical professionalsDeliver challenging electrical engineering tasks and produce deliverables for large or complex projectsReview vendors’ quotations, prepare technical evaluations, recommend vendors, and approve order variationsPrepare material take‑off for the electrical disciplineCoordinate meetings with vendors, hold engineering review meetings, and participate in project reviews, design reviews and auditsStrong understanding of plant design and equipment layoutLiaise with clients on technical matters when requiredConduct site surveys and data gathering for brownfield scopes, producing site survey reportsEngage in site visits, queries and discussions with suppliers, contractors and clientsAssess commercial and technical risks, manage them appropriately and highlight significant issues to the Lead EngineerWhat makes you remarkable?

Engineering Degree majoring in Electrical EngineeringMinimum of 10 years of relevant experienceProven core Electrical Engineering skills, including design experience in the Oil & Gas sectorExperience across greenfield and brownfield, offshore and onshore, Pre‑FEED to EPC, focusing on offshore upstreamFamiliarity with electrical design tools such as SPEL and Aveva ElectricalExperience with Electrical HAZOP / SAFOP completionExperienced with ETAPLeadership experience guiding junior engineers and designers to deliver discipline deliverablesCustomer focus, responsive to client needs while achieving project and corporate objectivesAnalytical and innovative skills to manage new technologyApplicants are required to :
