Overview Siemens Mobility (SMO) is the world’s leading provider of mobility solutions that enable the efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly transport of people and goods. We develop intelligent solutions for the growing digitalization of the transport sector, including rail vehicles, rail automation, road traffic management systems, rail electrification and services. In Qatar, Siemens Mobility is operating and maintaining the Education City Tram System, the world’s first low-floor, catenary-free tram system, which uses a Hybrid Energy System (HES) to power the tram between charging points along the route. Spanning 11 km, the network connects the North and South Campuses of Education City with 19 Siemens Avenio trams to enhance sustainable mobility in the region.

Today, we are recruiting for a

Tram Driver

to join our team in Qatar. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the major projects of Siemens Mobility.

Responsibilities

Drive trams in strict compliance with company rules, operational procedures, and road traffic regulations.

Ensure the safety of passengers, pedestrians, and other road users at all times.

Deliver excellent customer service, assisting passengers and providing accurate journey information when needed.

Identify and report any incidents, faults, or anomalies related to rolling stock and equipment to the Operations Control Center (OMCC).

Maintain a thorough understanding of EC Tram Rolling Stock to conduct basic fault finding and rectification in line with operational and maintenance procedures.

Report to Line Supervisors and Operations Controllers, following all operational orders and directives as instructed.

Communicate clearly and effectively with passengers and Operations Controllers to ensure smooth operations.

Assist during safety and quality audits, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications

A valid Qatar road driving license (car, bus, or truck) for at least 2 years.

A good physical condition, meeting Fitness Class 1 requirements.

Be at least 21 years old and have a minimum height of 1.60m.

Completed at least 10 years of successful school education.

A solid understanding of rail public transport operations, including rules and procedures.

Strong analytical and reporting skills to identify and document operational issues.

The ability to work under pressure while maintaining strict adherence to safety regulations.

Proficiency in spoken and written English to communicate effectively.

A proactive, customer-focused mindset with attention to detail and a results-oriented approach.

The ability to quickly adapt to changing operational situations and work collaboratively as part of a team.

A strong awareness of safety in railway and road environments.
