Job description

Role

  • Prepare pump station design.
  • Coordinate / collaborate with other disciplines involved in pump stations or other MEP design.
  • Prepare design calculations.
  • Prepare design drawings.
  • Prepare design reports.
  • Prepare technical notes.
  • Prepare presentations to client / stakeholders.
  • Liaise with client / stakeholders’ design reviewers to address comments and secure design approval.
  • Provide updates to team lead or project manager on status of design.
  • Provide feedback on resource requirements on assigned tasks.
  • Provide feedback on schedule requirements on assigned task.

Requirements

  • Essential skills and qualifications for the role.
  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at a reputable university recognized by MM Engineering Committee of Qatar.
  • Must have MM Engineering Committee registration. Grade A is preferred.
  • Must have 15 years’ experience, 10 years in mechanical infrastructure, i.e., pump stations, wet transmission lines, building services.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the following design fields :

    • Pump Station Design

  • Pump Selection
  • Hydraulic Analysis
  • Surge Analysis
  • HVAC
  • Fire Fighting / Fire Suppression
  • Fuel Systems Design
  • Pipe Stress Analysis
  • Knowledge in the following fields is an advantage :

    • Pipe Stress Analysis

  • CFD for wet well
  • CFD Analysis for ventilation / smoke control systems.
  • Knowledge in the following software is preferable :

    • AutoCAD

  • Revit
  • Hydraulic Analysis Software, e.g. WaterCAD
  • Surge Simulation Software
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be well versed in preparing calculations, associated reports, technical notes on the above-mentioned design fields.
