Overview
Job Purpose : To provide high-quality teaching and learning to high school students, ensuring continuity of education during the maternity cover period. The teacher will uphold the school’s standards of excellence, foster student engagement, and contribute positively to the school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the curriculum and subject requirements.
- Differentiate teaching to cater to students’ varied learning needs, abilities, and interests.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Maintain a well-structured, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues, subject leaders, and school leadership to ensure continuity of instruction.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
- Participate in school duties, meetings, and professional development as required.
- Uphold GEMS school policies, safeguarding procedures, and professional standards at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant subject area (Master’s preferred).Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, state license, or equivalent).Minimum of 2–3 years’ teaching experience at the high school level.Experience in an international or diverse educational setting is an advantage.Familiarity with American Curriculum Program.Skills & Attributes
