Qatar (initially office-based in Doha, then Project Site Offices in Ras Laffan)

Contract :

36 months, with possible extension

Working Hours :

10 hours / day, 5 days / week

We are seeking an experienced

Engineering Lead

to manage piping and layout engineering activities for a major onshore LNG project. The role ensures that all piping and layout activities comply with project specifications and requirements, coordinating closely with contractors and internal stakeholders to deliver the project on time and to standard.

Key Responsibilities

Lead piping and layout engineering deliverables during FEED and ensure compliance with project requirements.

Review and validate technical documents such as specifications, calculation notes, and drawings.

Coordinate and manage 3D model reviews at 30%, 60%, and 90% stages, tracking and closing comments efficiently.

Monitor contractor progress and ensure timely delivery of key documents and milestones.

Provide technical support across multiple disciplines and participate in workshops, including plot plan, constructability, and 3D model reviews.

Incorporate lessons learned and operational improvements into engineering deliverables.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project standards throughout engineering activities.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum 8 years' engineering experience, including at least 4 years in oil & gas projects.

Experience in supervisory roles or oversight of contractors / subcontractors / service providers.

SME-level competency in piping and layout design.

Experience with sour service gas, LNG facilities, and brownfield projects.

Knowledge of 3D modelling software and piping material selection.

Experience in berth design and seabed dredging is an advantage.

Ability to work independently and manage contractor teams effectively.

Strong initiative and problem-solving skills with a broad understanding of project integration.
