Job Description
1. JOB SCOPE :
Study and develop conceptual designs, prepare detailed engineering solutions, plan, monitor and coordinate all assigned modifications (projects) with project team for a wide range of tasks related to discipline scope. Act as a key focal point for in-house / subcontracted engineering. Review of engineering studies conducted in line with defined requirements, industry best practices and contractual agreements.
2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Description
Supervising and coordinating the construction and pre-commissioning phase of major and minor projects executed by annual and EPC contractors.
Supervises Contractors work to ensure implementation of specified scope of work with less cost, high quality, meets the Client standards and procedures.
Review modification approval drawings / documents, confirming it with P&ID, site verification for the construction deficiency and approve.
Liaises with concerned department for timely availability of materials. Prepare requisition to issue Client warehouse materials; also procure materials from local suppliers for shortage materials.
Preparation of inspection test plan for piping works, Preparation of job safety analysis, job risk assessment, and method of statement for different construction works and also prepares the rigging study and makes the lifting plan for heavy erection works.
Arrange different type of work permit; explain the hazard to the contractor depend upon the type of work, prepare Job safety analysis, and Method statement confirm the works are done in a safer manner and follow Client standards and procedures.
Supervise the piping pre-fabrication, and erection works for different materials like carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, GRP etc... Supervise the fabrication and erection of steel structures and platform and equipment erection works.
Liaises with Inspection section to arrange all NDT requirements for the work.
Propose field design changes during the construction phase and get approval from engineering section.
Prepare the punch points and confirm the works done as per the engineering study.
POSITION TITLE :
MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR
Classification : Internal
Liaises with Production Department and other disciplines to facilitate pre-commissioning and commissioning of the project and hand over to production.
After completion of the work, prepare as built documents like isometric, piping plan etc and issue the close out report.
Monitoring the project detail planning, status monitoring and progress follow up of all projects phases and keeps the Construction Engineer informed, avoiding project overruns or increased requirements for manpower, material, or any other requirements likely to cause increased costs or project commissioning delays.
Attends meetings with different departments and sections to ensure timely communication of issues and minimize interface disconnect.
Conduct meeting as required, either internally or externally with contractor during execution of the project.
Checking and certifying contractors invoices as per the contract terms and conditions.
Performs other similar or related duties such as providing any required information to immediate associates, undertaking of associated administrative tasks, and observing fire and safety regulations. Enforce safety rules and maintain the quality in all the works carried out at the plant
3. Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental management procedures.
To work closely with HSE and Quality on related tasks such as process safety, maintaining and updating system documentation.
Participate in modifications / projects reviews such as risk assessments, HAZOP, etc. to assure compliance to all defined standards and contribute to corrective actions.
Reports
Provide regular progress report related to assigned modifications (projects).
Preparation of specific reports upon request.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS :
Minimum Qualifications :
Classification : Internal
Diplomas Degree in Mechanical Engineering (full time course).
Minimum Experience :
5 years experience in the field of instrumentation and wiring in Operating plant (Petrochemical / Oil & Gas / Fertiliser)
Experience of establishment of mechanical data sheet and AVEVA software experiences
Proficiency in English language
