Salary : US $39,452 to $49,315 annually

Job Description

Serve as a 4th or 5th grade Science and Math Substitute Teacher at a wonderful IB school in Qatar.

School Info :

This lovely school opened in August 2019 as an IB Candidacy school embracing the Canadian Curriculum of Ontario. In August 2020, it expanded their grades from Pre-KG to upper Elementary. The teaching staff comes primarily from native English-speaking regions. They have established a welcoming and caring environment that focuses on moving every child to his or her potential.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Delivers STEM-oriented instruction through project-based learning methods.
  • Attends professional development and training related to STEM programs and methodologies, staying abreast of current research.
  • Works directly with school administrators and staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of STEM initiatives and curriculum.
  • Organizes, develops, and coordinates special STEM events / activities.
  • Coaches teachers on STEM initiatives and instructional best practices in the STEM areas.
  • Serves as liaison to prospective or selected STEM vendors, to determine the best resources, options and innovations that will optimize the learning experience for students and staff.
  • Initiates new programs that support the STEM vision.
  • Shares STEM events and activities through social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • School's Vision : Preparing learners and leaders with international intellectual orientations within a distinct educational community.

    School's Mission : Maintain students' identity and enable them to become educated and independent in their abilities and work within their local communities as well as globally.

    Requirements

    Be a fully qualified and experienced teacher with a Bachelor's in Education, majoring in Science or Math (preferably a Master's degree), and completed on campus (no long-distance education degrees).

    At least 5 years of experience.

    IB experience is a plus.
