Job Overview :

The Supervisor (Shipwright – Marine) will be responsible for overseeing and managing all shipwright operations. Within the shipyard, with a particular focus on mooring, load testing, block setting, and vessel docking / undocking procedures. The role requires a deep understanding of marine operations, strong leadership abilities, and hands-on experience in ship repair and docking activities to ensure safe and efficient execution of all marine works.

Job Role & Responsibilities :

• Supervise all shipwright-related operations including mooring, block setting, and vessel docking / undocking.
• Plan, organize, and assign tasks to teams involved in marine and dockyard activities.
• Oversee the preparation and setting of keel blocks and bilge blocks as per vessel docking plans.
• Ensure safe mooring of vessels and proper arrangement of docking and undocking procedures.
• Supervise load testing activities for lifting appliances, blocks, and other shipyard equipment.
• Inspect and verify dock blocks, mooring lines, and support structures for proper condition and alignment.
• Coordinate with engineers, marine supervisors, and safety officers to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
• Conduct toolbox talks and enforce compliance with shipyard safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of docking, undocking, and load testing operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical or manpower issues during marine operations.
• Train and guide dock workers, fitters, and helpers under your supervision.
