Position Overview
The Interface Manager will lead and oversee all technical, contractual and schedule interfaces across engineering, procurement, construction, fabrication yards and offshore installation / commissioning teams. This role is critical to ensure alignment of multiple disciplines and contractors, avoidance of scope conflicts, schedule slippages or interface claims, and the safe delivery of the offshore EPC scope. The Interface Manager reports to the Project Execution Manager / Interface Director and will typically have a small team of Interface Leads / Coordinators under direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Interface Management Plan (IMP) for the project : define interface boundaries, responsibilities, schedule linkage, escalation paths.
- Set up and lead the Interface Register / Interface Matrix tracking all inter‐discipline and contractor / contractor, contractor / owner, owner / third-party interfaces; ensure status is reviewed weekly and actions closed.
- Conduct interface review workshops (onshore & offshore), clash / overlap resolution meetings, weekly coordination meetings, and escalate unresolved issues to senior management.
- Interface actively between engineering contractors, procurement / fabrication yards, construction contractors (onshore & offshore), installation / commissioning teams and client / owner representatives.
- Ensure deliverables (drawings, data-sheets, work-packages, installation scopes) preserve continuity across discipline boundaries and downstream readiness for fabrication, installation, hook-up and commissioning.
- Monitor and report interface risks, claims potential, schedule impacts, and cost implications; feed into project risk register and change management processes.
- Ensure close interface with schedule & planning, document control / EDMS, HSE, quality & QA / QC teams to guarantee that interface deliverables meet safety, regulatory, and project quality requirements.
- Provide leadership and mentoring for Interface Leads / Coordinators; ensure interface team is aligned, mobilised and integrated into the project execution structure.
- Provide offshore support : be prepared to mobilise offshore (as per rotation) for installation phases, walk-downs, interface verifications, support construction hooks and handover.
- Ensure lessons-learned from previous projects are captured and applied; maintain interface documentation, revision control, and hand-over of interface closure to commissioning / operations.
