Vertical Sales Account Manager – Doha, Qatar

Location : Doha, Qatar

Key Responsibilities

  • Define mid-to-long term goals for strategically expanding and nurturing both new and existing accounts, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy.
  • Classify accounts into tiers based on their strategic importance and define engagement models for each segment (high‑touch vs. digital‑led strategies).
  • Develop individual strategies and plans for each account, aligning with the customer’s buyer journey to achieve defined goals.
  • Identify the necessary go‑to‑market channels, campaigns and market strategies to fulfill account plan objectives.
  • Plan and schedule customer interactions to foster relationships, drive engagement and ensure alignment with sales objectives, including collaboration with C‑level executives.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to track progress and realign strategies, utilizing market intelligence, CRM insights and performance data.
  • Take full ownership of the opportunity pipeline for assigned accounts, managing each stage from creation to closure and ensuring pipeline health.
  • Execute marketing‑led campaigns within assigned customers and develop targeted campaigns as needed.
  • Explore and address customers’ financial constraints and opportunities for new business models, positioning financing options early.
  • Engage decision‑makers and key stakeholders, delivering business insights and value propositions to demonstrate the need for change.
  • Define and manage the cross‑functional team required to advance deals, including Sales Specialists and Technical Sales roles.
  • Incorporate financial services and new business models into the deal strategy to strengthen deal viability.
  • Build a broad network of advocates within the account to drive upsell / cross‑sell opportunities.
  • Monitor and evaluate risks associated with active sales opportunities, ensuring readiness to address potential issues.
  • Manage negotiations and deal closings effectively.
  • Orchestrate internal teams and sales resources to align expertise and efforts dynamically.
  • Provide accurate forecasts, maintain customer records and pipeline reports within Salesforce, and participate in Win / Loss reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical, automation, electronic, computer science, mechatronics engineering, or a technical high school diploma.
  • Strong customer focus and orientation toward reaching targets.
  • Initiative, autonomy and a propensity to work in a team.
  • Strong technical experience with Automation solutions and sales within the automation market.
  • Knowledge of main market dynamics and rules in Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals industries.
  • Local Qatar market experience in major industries (Oil and Gas, Water and Wastewater, Infrastructure, etc.) preferred.
  • Passionate curiosity and continuous learning of new technologies.
  • Proven track record in Digitalization, e.g., IoT and AI.
  • Good knowledge and / or work experience with Digitalization, DCS, PLC, HMI / SCADA, drivers, industrial networking and related tools.
  • Thinking from the customer perspective and effective collaboration across business functions.
  • Commitment to developing technology and ethical guardrails.
