Commissioning Electrical Lead (Offshore)
Location : Qatar (Offshore)
Contract : 36 months
Work Schedule : 12 hours per day, 7 days per week, approximately 28 days per month
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Electrical Lead to oversee commissioning activities during the preparation and execution stages of offshore wellhead platforms. The role ensures that all electrical commissioning work is delivered safely, on time, and in compliance with project standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all electrical commissioning activities to meet schedule and safety requirements, including during SIMOPS.
- Supervise contractor commissioning teams to ensure compliance with approved methodologies and proper use of commissioning databases.
- Oversee commissioning execution both offshore and onshore, ensuring targets are achieved as defined by project management.
- Ensure readiness and availability of commissioning spare parts, special tools, and electrical packages.
- Manage system completions, walkdowns, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for electrical systems.
- Support the development of commissioning procedures, method statements, and check sheets.
- Ensure the correct application of safety and cybersecurity procedures during commissioning, including LOTO, PTW, JSA, and first energization.
- Maintain lessons learned registers for commissioning activities.
- Coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences.Minimum 8 years’ experience in oil and gas projects, including at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.Strong background in project execution, operations, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and systems completion.Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, datasheets, general arrangement drawings, and procedures.Experience commissioning electrical systems including UPS, power distribution (LV / HV), subsea cables, umbilicals, transformers, protection relays, and control systems.Familiar with LOTO procedures, electrical codes, and international standards (ATEX / IEC).Previous exposure to EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.Experience in start-up support and handover to operations.Offshore project experience is essential.Technical and Business Skills
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a focus on teamwork.Fluent in English, with strong written and spoken proficiency.Computer literacy in professional office applications and technical tools.Strong coordination skills for interfacing with contractors and managing documentation.#J-18808-Ljbffr
