Job Title : Governance and Compliance Manager
Reports To :
Chief Executive Officer
Role Purpose :
The Governance and Compliance Manager will oversee thedevelopment, implementation, and monitoring of company-wide policies andprocedures across all departments and subsidiaries. The role ensures that theorganization operates in accordance with internal standards, legal andregulatory requirements, and international governance best practices. Itfocuses on proactive compliance, policy enforcement, and cultivating a cultureof good governance.
Key Responsibilities :
Policy & Procedure Oversight
Develop,update, and maintain a comprehensive framework for all company policiesand procedures.
Coordinatewith department heads to ensure all policies are documented, approved, andcommunicated across the organization.
Ensurepolicies are aligned with local regulations, company values, andinternational standards.
Governance & Compliance
Monitorthe implementation of internal policies to ensure consistent applicationacross departments and business units.
Identifygaps in governance practices and propose practical improvements.
Establishcompliance tracking systems and dashboards to monitor adherence.
Supportthe implementation of corrective actions where compliance issues areidentified.
Developand conduct regular training and awareness sessions for employees ongovernance and compliance matters.
Serveas a resource for departments on interpretation and application of companypolicies.
Regulatory Alignment
Stayinformed on relevant Qatari laws, industry-specific regulations, and best practices.
Liaisewith Legal and HR teams to ensure compliance with statutory obligationsand changes in the regulatory landscape.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepareperiodic compliance and governance reports for executive leadership andboard committees.
Maintainproper documentation and logs of policy violations, exemptions, andcompliance reviews.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor’sdegree
in Law, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a relatedfield (Master’s degree is a plus).
5–8years of relevant experience
in governance, compliance, policydevelopment, or corporate affairs. Experience in a holding company ormulti-industry environment is highly preferred.
Strongunderstanding of
corporate governance frameworks , risk management,and internal controls.
Knowledgeof
Qatari laws and regulations
relevant to corporate operations.
Experienceworking with
ISO standards
or other compliance frameworks is anadvantage.
Excellentcommunication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Stronganalytical and problem-solving abilities.
Highattention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Abilityto drive change and promote a compliance-first culture without beingoverly bureaucratic.
Strongreporting and documentation skills.
