Job description

We are seeking an experienced and talented Head Baker to join our culinary team in Doha Qatar. As the Head Baker you will lead our bakery operations ensuring the highest quality of baked goods while managing a team of skilled professionals. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

  • Lead daily baking operations including the production of breads, pastries and specialty baked goods for all outlets and banquet functions
  • Develop and refine recipes in collaboration with culinary management
  • Train and mentor bakery staff to maintain consistency and uphold quality standards
  • Manage inventory, requisition supplies and ensure proper storage of ingredients
  • Create and maintain production schedules to meet demand while minimizing waste
  • Oversee the preparation of special occasion cakes and centerpieces as required
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain accurate records
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet customer needs and expectations
  • Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary work environment
  • Participate in menu planning and cost control initiatives
  • Stay current with baking trends and introduce innovative ideas to enhance our offerings

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Head Baker or in a similar leadership role within the culinary field
  • Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, recipes and industry trends
  • Proficiency in creating a wide range of baked goods including breads, pastries and cakes
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Journeyman papers or international equivalent (preferred)
  • Diploma or Certification in Culinary Arts or related field (preferred)
  • Food safety and hygiene certification
  • Excellent problem‑solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs and perform other tasks associated with a bakery environment
  • Proficient in using bakery equipment and maintaining production records
  • Customer‑focused mindset with the ability to remain calm and courteous in all situations
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Willingness to adapt to new techniques and technologies in the baking industry
  • Additional Information
