Class III Water Treatment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a water treatment plant (Water Pyramids) including maintenance of equipment, quality control, and day‑to‑day activities.

This position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor water treatment systems including pumps, filters, chemical feeders, and SCADA systems.
- Inspect equipment, monitor operating conditions including pumps, meters, gauges, respective piping, and chemical levels in water.
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and instrumentation.
- Maintain accurate records of plant operations, water quality data, and maintenance activities.
- Respond to alarms and emergencies, including after‑hours and weekend on‑call duties.
- Assist in training lower‑level operators and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Document system changes and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.Valid driver license.Valid Class III Water Operator certification as issued by the state regulatory agency.Minimum of (4) years of experience in water treatment operations.Minimum of (2) years as Water Operator of Records.Ability to pass a favorable national agency check (NAC).Required Skills
Strong understanding of water chemistry and treatment principles.Familiarity with SCADA systems, meters, and automated controls.Knowledge of state and federal drinking water regulations.Ability to interpret lab results and adjust operations accordingly.Proficiency in recordkeeping and report preparation.Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.Work in emergency situations as required.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.Excellent communication skills for coordinating with teams and documenting work.EEO Statement
