About the Role
As a Manager of Business Support & Financial Control (Cargo), you will be responsible for the preparation of financial and strategic information, monitoring variance against the budget, evaluating opportunities / risks, and implementation of cost control. You will support middle management business with financial business cases, dashboards, and analyses, focusing on value-added reporting and analyses for Senior Management in Finance and middle management business. You will organize and manage requests from Senior Management Finance, set priorities, and manage daily work of team members, ensuring compliance with QR accounting policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop business partner relationship functionality with leaders of assigned area of responsibility.
- Introduce a way of thinking culture that encourages leaders to consider value, risk and priority in project proposals.
- Prepare, analyse, enhance and present monthly KPI performance to budget holders, analysing revenue / expenditure variance.
- Prepare, analyse and present quarterly rolling forecast to business and financial stakeholders.
- Analyse actuals, forecasts, and budgets and prepare analyses for senior management of Cargo and corporate performance against benchmarks.
- Review commercial contracts and business proposals to be in line with policies and procedures.
- Present an objective view of the financial situation and provide sound recommendations for resource allocation.
- Deliver ongoing financial analysis and insight-driven guidance through continuous review, cost reduction initiatives and targets.
- Lead budgeting process preparation, execution and analysis in accordance with CFO directives on cost efficiencies.
- Enhance presentation and analysis submitted to Cost Management Committee (CMC) and conduct post CMC analysis for major capital projects and spends.
- Conduct in-depth analysis on strategic and business projects, extracting and analysing data, presenting findings and making recommendations.
- Monitor expenditure variances on an ongoing basis ensuring actual expenditure aligns with planned budget.
- Investigate significant variances, taking necessary control action.
- Control Inventory process and maintain stock levels within acceptable order and reorder quantities.
- Perform other department duties as directed by the Head of the Department.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with minimum 6 years of job-related experience.Experience working to tight internal reporting timescales and managing responsibilities / work interruptions while meeting deadlines.Command of English language.Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to work effectively across the organization.Strong analytical skills with ability to review variances, understand business cycle and impact on profit and loss.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Oracle Financials.Knowledge of internal finance system, cost centre accounting, and preparing budgets and forecasts.Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; self-starter with excellent organisational skills.Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow; mentoring and coaching skills.Agile in managing multiple responsibilities across multiple reporting lines.About Qatar Airways Group
