JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting and financial operations for Almana Used Cars, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with internal and regulatory requirements, and providing insights to support business decisions.
FINANCIAL OPERATIONS
Oversee the complete accounting cycle, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions across all used car operations.
- Record, monitor, and reconcile daily transactions in Autoline.
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
- Oversee bank reconciliations and cash management.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle purchases, sales, trade-ins, and reconditioning costs.
- Ensure proper allocation of costs to specific vehicles / projects.
- Support finance team with payroll, vendor payments, and intercompany transactions.
REPORTING & COMPLIANCE
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting while maintaining full compliance with laws and internal policies.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to queries.Ensure adherence to Qatar tax regulations, accounting standards, and group policies.Prepare variance analysis and highlight exceptions or anomalies.Assist in financial forecasting and budget preparation.Maintain accurate documentation for all financial records.BUSINESS PARTNERING & ANALYSIS
Provide insights and financial guidance to support decision-making in used car operations.
Collaborate with sales and operations teams to track vehicle profitability.Analyze revenue trends, margins, and cost structures.Provide recommendations to optimize pricing and inventory management.Assist in developing KPIs and performance metrics for business evaluation.Support management in preparing reports for strategic decisions.Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.SYSTEMS & CONTROLS
Ensure proper use of the Autoline system and maintain effective internal controls.
Monitor system transactions and resolve discrepancies.Implement financial controls to safeguard company assets.Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, or automation projects.Maintain data accuracy and integrity across all financial systems.Provide support and training to other team members on system processes.Conduct regular checks on reconciliations and transaction postings.TEAM COLLABORATION & SUPPORT
Work closely with Department Head and cross-functional teams to support business operations.
Coordinate with sales, operations, and service departments for accurate data flow.Provide guidance on financial policies, processes, and system usage.Assist in cross-functional projects involving budgeting, reporting, and compliance.Ensure timely communication of financial matters impacting operations.Support junior accounting staff as required, including review of work.Facilitate smooth month-end and year-end closing processes.Skills
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferredEXPERIENCE
Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in the Used Cars industry.Proven hands-on experience using Autoline system.Experience in ERP systems and automotive financial operations is an advantage.COMPETENCIES
