Job Objective Responsible for locating and purchasing ship chandlery supplies, receiving quotes from suppliers, creating product codes, preparing purchase orders, and ensuring timely procurement of materials. Support the sales team to provide quotations, supplies, and other documentation.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Receive quotations from suppliers and negotiate discounted prices
Identify and locate new reliable suppliers as per material requirements
Create new product codes in Oracle Fusion
Prepare purchase orders and send to suppliers
Coordinate with the store and maintain the stock of moving items
Follow up with suppliers for timely deliveries
Coordinate with the store keeper for receiving materials and proper arrangement for easy access and deliveries
Coordinate with the Local Purchase Assistant for urgent supplies
Follow specified systems, policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and risk management in all activities
Prepare weekly and monthly stock reports and forward them to management
Education & Professional Qualification Minimum 2 years Diploma or Bachelor Degree in any field
Professional Experience 3 - 5 years experience in a similar office administration job and at least 2-3 years in a procurement role.
Computer Skills MS Office package and knowledge of Oracle is preferred.
Language Skills Business fluent English; Hindi is preferred.
Market / Industry / Functional Knowledge Product knowledge of ship chandlery items and understanding of their application.
