Job Description
KEY RESULTS / ACCOUNTABILITIES EXPECTED FROM THE ROLE :
- The Electric Vehicle (EV) Technician diagnose, service and repair high voltage Electric Vehicles (EV) and commercial charging stations.
- Must have extensive & expert knowledge of how lithium-ion batteries and automotive systems interact.
- Repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and service electrical charging infrastructure using skills and tools that range from computer diagnostics to basic electrical tools.
- Understanding of EV systems including e-machines; Inverters; Batteries; Battery management systems; DC Vehicle Charging etc.
- Perform required preventative maintenance activities on vehicles systems and carry out workshop tests on engine drive, battery pack and BMS, communication systems and embedded systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS :
At least 2 years' technical experience of working on Full Electric Vehicles, especially working with hazardous voltage drive and battery systems.Must be qualified to work on electrical systems, which could include dealer service training or independent training provider or accredited course.IVQ / NVQ Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification to work on hazardous voltage electric vehicle systems.
