Job Description
Perform disassembly, inspection, repair, lapping, and reassembly of safety relief valves and pressure safety valves (PSVs).
Conduct testing and calibration of valves using hydraulic or pneumatic test benches in accordance with ASME / API standards.
Diagnose faults such as leakages, spring damage, or set pressure deviation and carry out necessary corrective actions.
Ensure all valves are tested, stamped, tagged, and documented as per client and regulatory requirements.
Maintain and operate valve testing equipment including hydraulic pumps, and calibration tools.
Record and report all service activities, including test results, parts replaced, and valve history.
Follow all safety protocols, confined space, and hot work procedures.
Support shutdown, turnaround, and preventive maintenance activities on-site or in the valve workshop.
Coordinate with QA / QC and client inspectors during valve testing and certification
Requirements
Education & Certifications :
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
OEM or safety valve calibration training (preferred).
Experience :
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in servicing and calibrating safety valves in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors.
Technical Skills :
Strong knowledge of safety valve operation, pressure settings, and standards (ASME / API).
Skilled in using valve lapping tools, test benches, and calibration instruments.
Ability to read valve data sheets, diagrams, and technical manuals.
Other Requirements :
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
Physically fit and able to work in field conditions.
Willingness to work overtime, in shutdowns, or rotational shifts.
Valid safety certifications (e.g., PTW, H2S, Confined Space) are an advantage.
