Assess the health, emotional, physical and social needs of the patient or client. Develop, implement and review care plans for patients / clients according to their individual needs. Help with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and other daily activities. Monitor health condition by taking vital signs such as temperature and pulse rate. Assist with meals; either preparing them or ensuring that they are taken as prescribed by medical professionals. Provide companionship; conversing with the patient / client about their interests or life experiences. Ensure that all safety protocols are followed when caring for the patient / client in their home or when transporting them outside of it. Qualifications

High school diploma (or equivalent) preferred but not essential. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently is required. Previous experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided on the job. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to develop relationships based on trust with patients / clients as well as family members or other carers is required. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations is essential.
