Wood has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Qatar on a long-term contract. This is a key role within the Wood Doha office, delivering across study, FEED, EPC, and PMC scopes of work. You will be responsible for executing project work in accordance with the project execution plan, including Wood and / or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control within the man-hour, cost, and schedule targets.

Produce electrical deliverables independently with minimal guidanceUnderstand and apply international codes and standardsDesign electrical systems, including SLDs, protection / control schemesDevelop and review deliverables such as Design Basis, Specifications, Load Schedules, Protection Schemes, Calculations, Layouts, Data Sheets, and Enquiry PackagesFamiliarity with SKM, ETAP, or SPEL softwareLead small to medium projects or serve as discipline technical authority when neededSupervise engineers and designers, provide guidance, and assist in managerial tasksManage vendor quotations, technical evaluations, and order variationsPrepare material take-offs and coordinate with vendors and clientsParticipate in project reviews, design audits, and workshopsUnderstand plant design and equipment layoutConduct site surveys and develop reports for brownfield projectsManage technical and commercial risks, escalate significant issuesQUALIFICATIONS

Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering with 8-12 years of relevant experienceRegistered as a Grade A Engineer in Qatar; or a Chartered Engineer if not registered in QatarCore electrical engineering skills, including design in Oil & Gas sectorExperience across project phases, including greenfield and brownfield, onshore and offshore, Pre-FEED to EPCFamiliarity with electrical design tools like SPEL and Aveva ElectricalExperience with Electrical HAZOP / SAFOPLeadership experience, mentoring junior engineers and designersCustomer-focused with strong analytical and innovative skillsABOUT US
