University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) was officially established by the Emiri Decision No13 of 2022, and it is the first national university specializing in academic applied, technical, and professional education in the State of Qatar. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Department Head, the ideal candidate should be a creative and innovative individual with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in effective teaching. The candidate will plan, develop, and deliver laboratory courses in Physics, such as General Physics, Introductory Physics, Health Sciences Physics, and other science lab courses to support the institution's programs.
Prepare and set up laboratory experiments, ensuring equipment and materials are readily available.Manage laboratory experiments and activities, ensuring students' safety and adherence to proper laboratory procedures.Instruct students on experimental techniques, theory, and safety protocols and offer guidance on data collection and analysis.Evaluate students' laboratory reports, assignments, and performance and provide feedback on their work.Assist in developing and maintaining laboratory curriculum, including updating experiments and materials as needed.
Ensure the laboratory complies with safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment, and train students on laboratory safety.Maintain a clean and organized lab environment.Oversee equipment and instrumentation in the laboratory, ensuring proper maintenance, and coordinate repairs or replacements when necessary.Handle administrative tasks such as record-keeping, inventory management, and scheduling laboratory sessions.Collaborate with the team to prepare a comprehensive list of lab materials, and equipment required for practical labs.Stay updated on the latest advancements in physics and teaching methodologies through ongoing professional development.Contribute to UDST activities and initiatives, including assignments to committee work related to curriculum, assessment, student success, and community outreach.Attend department meetings and training sessions as required.Other tasks as may be assigned by the Department Head.Qualifications
Master's Degree in Physics or applied physics from a recognized institution.A minimum of three (3) years of prior full-time teaching experience within higher education institutions in an English-speaking institution, with a focus on instructing Physics Laboratory courses.Strong knowledge of Physics principles and laboratory techniques.Demonstrate reliability, responsibility, and flexibility in managing the teaching and learning environment.Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; interpersonal skills that contribute to a healthy workplace environment.Collaborative and collegial spirit and a demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.Strong organizational and time management skills.Enthusiasm for teaching and helping students learn.#J-18808-Ljbffr
