Responsibilities Responsible for the daily shift operations of Housekeeping, Recreation / Health Club and, if applicable, Laundry. Directs and works with employees to verify guestrooms, public spaces and employee areas are clean and well maintained. Completes inspections and enforces corrective action. Assists in ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.

Candidate Profile / Qualifications Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in housekeeping or related professional area.

OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; no work experience required.

Core Work Activities Managing Housekeeping Operations and Budgets

Verifies guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner.

Inspects guestrooms daily and prepares work assignments based on room status and expected check-outs.

Inventories stock to verify adequate supplies and supports an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public spaces.

Understands the impact of departmental operations on property financial goals and manages to budgeted targets.

Ensures staff have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms; communicates needs to staff and follows up.

Supervises daily Housekeeping shift operations and ensures compliance with policies, standards, and procedures.

Participates in departmental meetings and communicates goals to achieve desired results.

Conducting Human Resources Activities

Trains new room attendants using on-the-job tools and provides follow-up training.

Maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and manages attendance and scheduling to meet business demands.

Ensures policies are administered fairly; disciplinary procedures and documentation follow SOPs / LSOPs and Peer Review processes where applicable.

Monitors staffing to meet guest service, operational, and financial objectives; observes service behaviors and provides feedback.

Supports employee recognition programs and solicits feedback to address concerns.

Participates in progressive discipline and recognizes team contributions.
