Employee Relations Specialist - QatarEnergy LNG Employee Relations Specialist

Job Purpose Provide advisory support and manage all employee relations issues for employees and senior management, ensuring compliance with Company policies, employment laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Analyze complex situations, interpret regulations, policies and procedures, synthesize relevant data from a variety of sources into formal reports with realistic recommendations for actions.

Analyze information gathered for its purpose of developing recommendations and / or making decisions, integral to ensuring QatarEnergy LNG covenants are maintained and the credibility of the function.

Work with all levels of the business, including providing recommendations and at times difficult conversations with Department Managers and Chief Officers.

React to critical matters efficiently and timely across all QatarEnergy LNG sites.

Work flexibly to meet deadlines and respond to situations that may occur outside normal working hours.

Recommend the practical application of policies related to working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary, grievance and absence management, and assist line managers and supervisors.

Advise supervisors on appropriate actions and strategies for ensuring employee discipline and on the proper methods of disciplining and discharging employees; serve as HR focal point for Life Savings Rules violations within the Company.

Conduct investigations as determined relevant by HR and Ethics and Conflict of Interest Committee, including breaches of Code of Business Ethics Policy and external fraudulent allegations; support IT department in investigation of IT and Information Security related breaches.

Coordinate with the Legal department on complex cases and represent HRM as delegated in Investigation Committees when required.

Investigate grievances, harassment, absence, and disciplinary cases; conduct effective interviews, extract pertinent information, and produce necessary investigation reports with recommendations.

Ensure effective dispute resolution and promote positive working relationships.

Implement outcome of investigation reports, including issuing warning letters and contract termination notices.

Liaise with the Medical team on employee cases with a medical dimension, follow up on sick leaves and recommend termination of contract on medical grounds.

Liaise with employees and / or their families in event of mishaps, accidents, or fatalities to ensure availability of appropriate, timely support and follow up with Personnel Administration Operations team on insurance-related payments.

Represent HR as focal point in Crisis Response as required.

Maintain comprehensive and confidential case records and liaise with subject matter experts for effective close‑out of cases; prepare statistical reports, warnings, and advisories as required by HR Management.

Develop, maintain, and deliver training and coaching sessions to Supervisors and above on effective employee management and employee relations principles, including facilitation of Supervisor development training program.

Create and maintain guidelines and work instructions for areas involved with potential discipline of employees or employee investigations (Information Security, Al Khor Community, Safety).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Law, or Industrial Relations.

Key Knowledge and Experience

8 years of experience in employee relations.

Experience in case management, training, and employee engagement.

Extensive experience in policy development and facilitation of training.

Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level
