Crisis Management and Business Continuity Lead

Key Result Area :

• Lead the development and the implementation of HBKU's business continuity risk and crisis programs based on best practice, review and maintain policy, procedures and frameworks, business continuity plans and business impact analyses, whilst liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary liaison / focal point between the Risk Management Department and key support functions such as Procurement, Human Resources, Finance, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective collaboration on risk-related and administrative matters.
• Serve as a primary contact for all queries on the Risk and Compliance Department software solution. This also includes ensuring the effective functionality, management, and upkeep of the software.
• Implement strategies, processes, policies and procedures and solutions across HBKU to control risks, improve operational efficiencies and ensure compliance with the relevant standards and regulations through the provision of consistent and targeted evidenced-based strategic advice to stakeholders.
• Manage risk monitoring, assessments and reporting (including breaches and incidents, key risk indicators, and operational risk registers. This includes conducting initial risk assessments, which will involve analyzing risks as well as identifying emerging risks impacting HBKU.
• Actively contribute to and drive the continuous improvement of the Risk and Compliance Department and institute framework by reviewing and validating controls and treatment plans in both strategic and operational risk registers and compliance registers and providing improvement recommendations (which may lead to risks requiring re-rating).
• Prepare and provide comprehensive, timely accurate reports to the Business Continuity Manager, Risk and Compliance Manger, Director of Risk and Compliance to enable management and the Board to fulfil their risk and compliance obligations.
• Implement awareness and knowledge of business continuity and crisis management, in HBKU through creating awareness, training, communications and responding to staff queries in a timely manner.
• Contribute to the implementation of the integrity framework including participating in the investigation process as required for whistleblower and fraud and corruption allegations.
• Any other duties as directed, commensurate with the scope and classification of the position.
