Power Production Technician

Position Summary :

As a Power Production Technician at Al Udeid Air Force Base, Qatar, you will ensure the safe and reliable operation of prime power generation and distribution systems supporting critical infrastructure. This role involves oversight of diesel and gas-powered generators, ATS / MTS switches, refueling operations, and coordination with U.S. Government personnel. A rapid two-hour response to site notification is required.

Key Responsibilities :

• Leadership & Management
• Manage resources and activities related to installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power systems.
• Ensure compliance with PWS, host nation laws, DoD, and DoS regulations.
• Technical Operations
• Operate and maintain diesel / gas generators and associated power systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to uphold manufacturer standards.
• Oversee operation of ATS / MTS switches, fuel tanks, and cabling.
• Ensure generator systems support prime mission requirements.
• Safety & Compliance
• Train team on safety procedures, hazard analysis, and environmental policies.
• Manage hazardous materials, waste, and POL storage.
• Follow PPE requirements and safety protocols for austere environments.
• Reporting & Documentation
• Maintain records including AF719 and AF487.
• Prepare outage reports and ad-hoc documentation as needed.
