SR. Environmental Engineer – QatarEnergy
Primary Purpose Of The Job :
Responsible for the environment engineering and compliance, associated with the onshore scope greenfield and brownfield. Provide technical inputs to the detail engineering design, procurement, installation, construction and commissioning of onshore facilities in compliance with environmental standards and regulations mainly for Oil & Gas Project. This position will fully support the project and focus on successful execution of the project on time, within budget and in accordance with the agreed project requirements, specifications and standards.
Required Experience And Skills
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in environmental engineering in Oil & Gas Industry with an Oil & Gas Company or Consultant / Contractor, preferably in major greenfield projects.
- Experience in management and coordination of all project environmental interfaces with third parties and external authorities.
- Experience in developing and endorsing environmental / HSE specifications and participating in HSE / Environmental studies such as HAZID, EIA, ENVID, HIRA and other environmental (modelling / dispersion) studies.
- Experience in international HSE / Environmental regulatory requirements, codes, standards, industry best practices and company specifications and standards.
- Experience in developing and reviewing Operation or Construction Environment Management Plan (CEMP), Waste Management Plan (WMP), Oil Spill Prevention and Response Plan and associated environmental procedures.
- Familiar with the impact assessment of different process systems and subsystems in the surrounding onshore environment associated with drilling, construction, transportation, installation, commissioning, operation and decommissioning.
- Experience with the assessment of environmental risks associated with decommissioning, abandonment and demolishing existing facilities.
- Proficiency in effective communication, presentation and conflict management skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining an overview of the critical technical issues and risks.
- Ability to recognize technical issues and elevate to project management.
- Strong team player with excellent collaborative approach, strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Ability to identify engineering risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure project success.
- Fluent in English.
Educational Qualifications
B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.Membership of a recognized professional engineering HSE association / institution is preferable.
