Job descriptionSupervise a team of technicians and ensure all engineering tasks are completed as per the hotel’s standards. Assign and oversee tasks for engineering staff during the shift. Conduct training and provide technical support to the engineering team. Ensure all team members adhere to safety procedures and hotel policies. Ensure compliance with local regulations and hotel safety standards related to engineering operations. Maintain proper documentation of safety checks inspections and compliance reports. Respond to emergency situations such as power failures leaks and equipment breakdowns ensuring guest and staff safety. Degree or diploma in Mechanical Electrical or Civil Engineering. Minimum of 35 years of experience in hotel engineering or a similar role. Strong technical knowledge of HVAC electrical plumbing and fire safety systems. Experience in preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting technical issues. Previous experience in a luxury hospitality environment preferred. Ability to lead a team and manage tasks efficiently under pressure. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
The Duty Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation maintenance and repair of all mechanical electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems within the hotel. This role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting technical issues supervising the engineering team during shifts and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and oversee the daily operation of all MEP systems including HVAC electrical plumbing and fire safety systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on hotel equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Respond promptly to engineering requests from guests and other departments ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical electrical and plumbing issues efficiently.
- Maintain records of all maintenance activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
