We are looking for a passionate, playful, and forward-thinking Studio Manager to guide children through open-ended creative exploration across different activities in our studio. In this role, you’ll design and facilitate hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity, foster critical thinking, and empower children to bring bold ideas to life through art, science, storytelling, and invention.
You’ll be a key leader in shaping our studio’s learning culture and develop programs that nurture confidence and empower young learners to think like artists, engineers, and changemakers.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and lead engaging experiences rooted in creative exploration
- Design weekly sessions aligned with studio goals, seasonal themes, and child / parent interests
- Adapt activities to meet a range of ages, abilities and learning styles
- Facilitate workshops, classes, camps, and other pop-up projects for children
- Monitor and keep track of inventories of materials needed and place orders well ahead of time
- Integrate real-world problem solving, storytelling, and creative exploration into all offerings
- Create a safe and inspiring environment where children feel confident to take risks and express ideas
- Model a curiosity and growth mindset in your teaching and interactions
- Guide children in developing their own questions, creations, and creative solutions
- Train and lead a small team of assistants and provide guidance, feedback, and support
- Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and joyful studio environment where every child feels seen, supported, and inspired
- Manage studio flow, transitions, and group dynamics with warmth and clarity
Environment & Materials Management
Maintain an organized, welcoming, and well-stocked studioEnsure safe and responsible use of tools and materialsObserve group dynamics and provide positive guidance and behavioral support as neededUphold health and safety rulesShare feedback, ideas, and observations to help strengthen the studio’s mission and impactCollaborate with Wonder Works team to refine studio practicesManage scheduling and shifts of assistantsMentor and support learning assistantsParticipate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional developmentCommunity Engagement
Build warm, professional relationships with children and familiesRepresent the studio at community events when applicableQualifications :
5 years experience teaching or facilitating learning for children in a creative, educational, or STEAM-based environmentDeep belief in the power of hands-on, child-led learning and creative expressionStrong classroom or group management skills with a warm and welcoming approachFamiliarity with explorative-based learning, Reggio-inspired or Montessori principlesComfort working with a variety of materials—arts & crafts, building tools, circuits, robotics kits, recycled materials, etc.Passion for nurturing creativity, confidence, and a maker mindsetCPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plusEmployment Details
