Project Overview
The role is for a major production sustainability project in Qatar, focusing on the design and engineering of offshore platforms.
Key Responsibilities
– Lead engineering and design of offshore structures (jackets and topsides)
– Perform structural analysis using industry-standard tools
– Optimise layout and configuration of steel frameworks
– Design and analyse offshore jackets
– Ensure stability, weight, and load distribution requirements are met
– Coordinate with installation teams for optimisation
– Engineer structural layouts for topside facilities
– Collaborate with other disciplines for integrated design
– Ensure ease of maintenance and safety compliance
– Define appropriate materials for offshore structures
– Prepare detailed material specifications
– Perform calculations for wind, wave, and seismic impacts
– Use advanced modelling techniques for simulations
– Ensure compliance with international design codes
– Work with other engineering disciplines
– Participate in design reviews
– Coordinate with installation teams
– Provide technical support during installation
– Conduct on-site inspections
– Review and revise structural designs
– Perform clash detection and interface analysis
– Prepare engineering documentation and reports
– Maintain organized records
– Adhere to industry standards and best practices
– Incorporate safety features into designs
– Ensure environmental and safety regulation compliance
Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
– 5+ years experience in offshore platform structural design
– Proficiency in structural analysis software
– Knowledge of offshore design codes and standards
– Strong teamwork and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
– Experience with offshore projects in the Middle East
– EPC or EPCI project experience
– Familiarity with corrosion-resistant alloys for offshore applications
