HSE Manager

Overview

Our client, a leading local contractor with an outstanding reputation for success, is seeking a HSE Manager to join them in Qatar. The role focuses on health, safety, and compliance across large-scale building and infrastructure projects in the UAE and Gulf region.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all health and safety statutory and contractual requirements are identified.
• Monitoring the contractor and all sub-contractors for HSE compliance with regulatory and project requirements on a day-to-day basis.
• Reviewing and approving Contractor HSE plans (HSE Plan, Fire Safety Plans, Emergency Preparedness / Response Plans, etc).
• Actively participating in all HSE activities (HSE Inductions, HSE training & awareness programmes, HSE promotional activities, Tool Box talks, etc.).
• Monitoring and coordinating all HSE aspects during the design process (where applicable), ensuring hazards identified and HSE risks are reduced to as low as reasonably practicable.
• Reviewing all Method Statements and Risk Assessments submitted, especially for critical activities pertaining to HSE.
• Planning, organizing and conducting daily inspections, audits, HSE activities.
• Issuing Improvement Notices (HSE violations) and Prohibitive Notices (HSE stop work notices).
• Ensuring timely close out of various HSE notices.
• Thorough investigation and follow-up of all HSE incidents / accidents (including high-potential near misses).
• Adoption of best HSE standards, procedures and working practices.
• Effective motivation, communication and participation.
