Space Monitoring Specialist – Job Responsibilities Satellite Monitoring & Reporting Monitor satellites in Geostationary and Non-Geostationary Orbits visible from the Space Radio Monitoring Center (SMC). This includes tracking the following parameters : Orbital Position Center Frequency Generate and submit daily activity reports detailing monitoring investigations and share them with the Operational Lead. Interference Investigation & Resolution Plan and conduct investigations to geolocate interfering sources using : Fixed Monitoring Stations Terminal Auditing & Database Maintenance Perform audits on all VSAT and other satellite terminals. Maintain an accurate and updated database of all space terminals operating within Qatar. Monitoring Center Operations Draft operational guidelines for efficient functioning of the SMC Monitoring Center. Coordinate and support the maintenance of a comprehensive frequency reference database. Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders during ongoing monitoring operations at events. Conduct fixed and mobile spectrum monitoring to ensure frequency users and licensees comply with : National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP) ITU Radio Regulations Licensing conditions Detect and investigate spectrum violations, including harmful interference, and recommend corrective measures. Field Monitoring & Technical Operations Operate portable monitoring tools (e.g., spectrum analyzers) to detect interference sources. Execute data collection through drive tests and walk tests in accordance with the Network Audit Monitoring Plan. Operate and verify data integrity using drive test tools.
