Senior Commissioning Engineer Doha, Qatar

Overview We are looking to hire a Senior Commissioning Engineer for a national oil and gas operator in Doha. Must have a minimum of 12‑14 years experience in relevant construction and installation activities in projects of the oil & gas industry. Experienced in the implementation of construction industry best practices systems, processes and standards. Skilled in English.

Responsibilities Represent QP as Commissioning Team Leader for all assigned projects in offshore. Review and comment on EPIC Contractor SOW, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and completion activities. Lead pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up engineering support services rendered by outsourced contractors, ensuring all activities are conducted as per QP regulations, project commissioning procedures and industry best practices. Report to Head Commissioning on all commissioning related matters under execution. Develop Commissioning Strategy and Commissioning Plan, obtain approval for the same in consultation with End User and in accordance with Contract requirements, in close coordination with Head Commissioning and EPIC Contractor. Lead the Commissioning Team in the development and arrangement for approval of commissioning procedures for all systems and facilities. Organise and ensure availability of the Commissioning Team and arrange required manpower support from End User and Contractor. Develop the planning of commissioning activities and ensure implementation as per the approved Commissioning Plan and project schedule. Detail activities into required systems and subsystems to facilitate commissioning and start‑up. Arrange for approval of all commissioning handover checklists and certificates, and coordinate with Contractor / Vendors to solve system / equipment performance problems. Work closely with project Construction Team, End User and Contractor to coordinate punch listing activities from beginning to end of the commissioning process including clearance and close‑out. Provide frequent long working hours, including outdoor field work. Exposed to multi‑disciplinary, multi‑cultural environment requiring special coordination and expediting skills. Maintain sound inter‑personal relationships and effective communication within QP and Contractor Teams. Coordinate schedule for vendor presence / visits at site(s) on‑job training to assist in the commissioning of critical equipment and processes. Participate and contribute to all safety design review and studies, participate on FAT as required. Review multi‑disciplinary engineering deliverables from commissioning approaches. Support and assist project team in project closeout gate.

Qualifications BSc (or) BE in Instrumentation, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university. Extensive commissioning experience of oil & gas projects. Good skills in construction management, effective communication, conflict resolution. Good communication skills. Exposure to commissioning software such as ICAPS and similar. Minimum of eight to ten (12 to 14) years experience in relevant construction and installation activities in projects of oil & gas industry. Experienced in the implementation of construction industry best practices systems, processes and standards. Multi‑discipline engineering exposure with troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills is essential. Experience in offshore projects construction installation activities is strongly preferred. Strong technical experience in commissioning of F&G systems, DCS / ICS, Power Management Systems, Instrument air, Wellhead Control Systems, etc., in offshore environments.
