Overview An international energy operator is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the planning, management, and execution of multiple brownfield modification and retrofit projects. The role involves overseeing engineering, procurement, construction, and project delivery activities while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, cost, schedule, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams across onshore and offshore facilities.

Generic Accountabilities

Safety, Health & Environment :

Ensure all activities comply with safety, health, environmental, and quality policies and standards.

Qatarization Program :

Support development of local employees where applicable.

Firewall Compliance :

Ensure compliance with anti-trust and competition laws and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

Support project SHE strategy and contractor SHE plan implementation, including audits and safety inspections.

Participate in project concept selection, develop project objectives and strategies, and co-develop cost, schedule, and engineering management plans.

Lead Front End Engineering Design (FEED) activities and convert technical requirements into basic engineering deliverables for EPC phase.

Apply brownfield project planning, interface management, and quality management practices to ensure projects meet technical and safety standards.

Monitor contractor performance, assess construction strategies, and ensure proper execution of shutdown and non-shutdown activities.

Coordinate schedules, analyze critical paths, and develop mitigation or schedule allowances as required.

Coordinate project resources and cost estimates, analyze cost trends, and recommend contingency measures.

Review and approve invitations to tender, scope of work, technical and commercial evaluation criteria, and vendor prequalification processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science with a focus in a relevant engineering discipline.

Minimum 5 years' experience in project execution, engineering, or operations environments.

Experience working on brownfield projects, simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), and debottlenecking of operating facilities.

Proficient in engineering software tools and systems.

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Additional Information

This position is based in Qatar. Candidates must be eligible to work in the country.
