Head of Project Engineering

A leading EPC working on very large global projects with major Operators.

Job Description -

To ensure the effective management of the designated discipline department on projects undertaken by the Engineering Office taking into account the company's objectives in relation to technical quality, internal budget and on-time delivery of projects, and the development of the department.

Responsibilities -

Management of the relevant engineering discipline, including allocation of discipline resources to projects, inter-discipline coordination and coordination with project managers.

Ensure that the expectations and agreed technical requirements for projects are met including service to technical quality, service to client, internal budget and delivery.

Participate as a member of the senior management team in the overall planning and execution of projects in the Engineering office.

Develop and mentor the discipline team / department, including inter alia recruitment, motivation, training and development of staff.

Implementation and improvement of discipline design processes.

Lead the identification and implementation of relevant standards and technologies including computer applications / tools.

Ensure that health and safety is considered on all projects and appropriate actions / mitigation measures are implemented.

Develop and improve relationships with company's clients.

Actively assist in development of repeat orders and new business, including assisting in preparation of proposals to clients.

Act as Project Engineering Manager on suitable project(s).

Degree in Engineering.

15 years of experience in engineering, including 10 years in management of engineering design projects with minimum 6 years in engineering office.

Post-graduate qualification in relevant discipline or management desirable.

Good understanding of computer applications / tools for the relevant discipline.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
