Job Description
The Public Health Nurse works under the supervision of the Deputy Project Manager in conjunction with the healthcare team, physicians, and government agencies to prevent healthcare associated infections. The Public Health Nurse must be able to interpret data, to plan, implement, evaluate, and disseminate outcome-based care. The Public Health Nurse will assist with investigation and systematically analyse healthcare associated infection data and provide mitigation training to nursing staff. The Public Health Nurse will evaluate, implement, and document all appropriate quality control and quality assurance measures in alignment with CDC standards and company policy.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collect and analyze infectious disease data to make evidence-based decisions.
- Conduct rounds, discuss, and monitor infection prevention practices with nursing and supporting staff.
- Provide professional nursing care based on established nursing protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Administer and dispense medications and vaccines based on nursing assessment and nursing protocol.
- Disseminate infection prevention information including surveillance data and policy decisions.
- Apply the principles of Infection prevention to development of educational training programs.
- Provide public health guidance to the nursing staff by training, scheduling, evaluating, and counseling the nursing staff.
- Read, research relevant subject matter to maintain current knowledge and competencies in infection prevention.
- Assist in the development of the care plans for infected individuals to contain the spread of infectious diseases.
- Assist with the development of action plans in community or medical facility outbreak to minimize the potentially devastating impact.
- Collaborate with government agencies such as the CDC to ensure that infection control practices are implemented and enforced.
- Utilize strategies for interacting with persons from a culturally diverse background.
- Educate nursing staff and paraprofessional team on new processes and assist staff in continuing education on infection prevention protocols per CDC.
- Manage AED program and training.
- Interact with healthcare team to provide information and foster communication between laboratory staff and healthcare team.
- Participates in public health emergencies response as directed.
- Cooperate with state and county health department regarding infectious and communicable diseases.
- Participate fully in Departmental and Facility Quality and Assurance activities. Support the delivery and administration of Q & A activities.
- Liaise with medical staff regarding staff health concerns.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all communications with coworkers and clients, fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment that values diversity.
- Participate in mass-casualty drills twice a year and remain available for on-call coverage.
- Complete required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Knowledge :
Must hold valid, current and unrestricted nursing license from country of origin.Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Public Health, preferably in a remote setting.Completion of Public Health Nurse course, Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred or strong background in the field of Infectious Disease Control in a healthcare setting.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).Education Required :
Graduate from an accredited nursing program or international equivalent.Obtain provided American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Physical Requirements :
Work is normally performed in a deployment work environment.Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.May require bending, stooping and lifting to 15 lbs.Other Special Qualifications :
Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.This position is unaccompanied.Ability to obtain a base security clearance.Must be able to relocate to Doha, Qatar.A valid passport from Country of Record is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay.Additional Information
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
