Role Objective The incumbent will assist the reporting authority in effective administration / operations of Financial Control function in line with the applicable accounting standards, rules and regulations, and accounting policies and reviewing and supervising the work of Nostro Reconciliation and Accounts Payable functions.
Detailed Roles and Responsibilities Financial Control function including accounting and booking keeping
Review daily consolidated balance sheet and elevate if any abnormal situation notices, eg. Fractional difference if is of significant amount etc.
Provide guidance and assistance for issues regarding the accounting function of the local and overseas branches and DBAC as a group of companies, in consultation with the Section Head and Department Head.
Assist in the preparation / revision of Policy / Procedure manual of the Group Finance in consultation with other departments within Group Finance, on regular basis in order to have the updated policy procedure manual in place.
Review and prepare accounting procedures on various business units or new products, new business activity or change of any other activity, after considering the overall requirements (system capabilities, Accounting principles and standards, Local regulations etc.) for inclusion in the respective Policy Procedure Manuals.
Accounts Payable
Assist the Manager Accounts payable, in case of staff shortage or absence, for smooth operations of the payment process as and when required with the approval of line managers
Ensure Regular payments are affected by AP team on its due dates, else elevate to the line managers
Ensure monthly MIS reports are prepared by AP team and elevate the line managers if there is any delay.
Nostro & Inter Branch Reconciliation
Assist the Manager Reconciliation, in case of staff shortage or absence, for smooth operations the work of Reconciliation staff, as and when required with the approval of line managers.
Ensure / Assists in preparation of MIS reports of Reconciliation outstanding on monthly basis.
Analyze reconciliation outstanding from the monthly reports and elevate to the Section Head / Department Head Group Financial Control.
Ensure the reconciliation data backup and archival is properly done on monthly basis.
Information required by QCB / External / Internal Auditors & Compliance
Assist in coordination efforts to ensure that all required reports / information are arranged for the audit purposes prior to start of the audits, by the respective areas within Group Finance.
Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements and other reports by the Reporting Team, for quarterly or annual reporting prior to audit.
Qualifications & Experience
University graduate with a degree in Business or Banking or Finance or any other related discipline.
Master’s degree in Management any other related discipline will be an added advantage.
4 to 5 years’ experience in Group Finance
Qualification ACCA, CPA or CA Finalist
Key Skills – knowledge of accounting principles and regulation, Familiarity with Financial system like Oracle., Good communication skills
