About the Role

We areseeking Senior Lecturers / Lecturers in Computer Science to teach,mentor, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our computingprogrammes. The role requires both academic and professional engagement,fostering student success and advancing the University ’s strategic goals.

Facultyjoining at this stage will be part of a rapidly developing academic communitywith opportunities to progress to senior academic and leadership roles (e.g.,Programme Leader, Associate Dean, or Dean), depending on performance andinstitutional contribution.

Requirements

About You

Deliver and assess undergraduate modules incomputer science, software engineering, and related areas.
Develop and update teaching materials in linewith current academic and industry developments.
Contribute to the design, validation, andenhancement of academic programmes.
Prepare and moderate assessments in accordancewith LJMU academic regulations and assessment frameworks.
Supervise undergraduate and postgraduateprojects and provide academic mentoring to students.
Engage in research and scholarly activitiesaligned with the University ’s strategic priorities.
Collaborate with industry partners andadvisory boards to enhance programme relevance.
Contribute to the delivery of continuingprofessional development (CPD) and short courses.
Participate in academic committees,departmental meetings, and institutional initiatives.
Commit to continuous professional developmentand support the university’s growth and quality enhancement strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

A PhD degree in Computer Science, SoftwareEngineering, or a closely related discipline.

Proven experience in teaching and research atthe University level.

Excellent communication and presentationskills in English.

Evidence of commitment to high-qualityteaching, learning, and student success.

Ability to work effectively both independentlyand within a team environment.

A track record of scholarly research andpeer-reviewed publications.

Experience in curriculum design, moduleleadership, and quality assurance.

Experience supervising research projects atundergraduate or postgraduate level.

Engagement in consultancy, innovation, orapplied industry projects.
