Job Summary

Champion transformation across the Retail & Consumer Banking Division blending strategic insight with COO-level operational excellence to shape an agile, cohesive and future-ready roadmap. This role orchestrates cross-functional initiatives that modernize operating models, enhance customer experience, and resolve complex challenges across products, channels, systems, and customer journeys, leveraging latest technologies like AI and performance enhancing tools and frameworks. Beyond planned strategic programs, this role serves as the “go-to” problem solver for mission-critical issues—stepping in when challenges are complex, progress is stalled, there is lack of clarity, lack of ownership and when solutions require rapid cross-departmental coordination. By harnessing data-driven insight, operational acumen, and cross-functional leadership, the role ensures projects and interventions are executed with speed, precision, and measurable impact.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Transformation

  • Define, prioritize, and execute strategic initiatives that modernize Retail Banking’s operating model, customer experience, and product / channel portfolio.
  • Align multi-departmental objectives into a cohesive transformation roadmap, ensuring cross-functional ownership and delivery.
  • Partner with senior leadership to identify high-value opportunities for operational efficiency, digital enablement, and revenue growth.

Operational Excellence & Troubleshooting

  • Intervene in critical issues where cross-departmental coordination or deep problem-solving is required to restore momentum.
  • Serve as the escalation point for stalled initiatives, high-impact operational bottlenecks, and urgent customer-impacting challenges.
  • Drive resolution through rapid analysis, stakeholder alignment, and structured action planning.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Utilize analytical models, performance dashboards, and customer insights to inform decision-making and validate project priorities.
  • Track and measure impact of initiatives against KPIs and strategic objectives.
  • Business–Technology Alignment

  • Partner with Technology, Operations, and Risk functions to deliver IT and process changes that support business growth and compliance.
  • Ensure system enhancements, channel upgrades, and product innovations are deployed seamlessly across the network.
  • Stakeholder & Change Management

  • Build strong relationships with executive leadership, product heads, and operational teams to secure buy-in and drive accountability.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes with clarity and precision to senior stakeholders.
  • Foster a transformation mindset and change-ready culture across the Retail Banking division.
  • Key Competencies

  • Strategic & Operational Leadership - Proven ability to set vision, influence stakeholders, and deliver transformation at scale.
  • Problem Solving & Troubleshooting - Exceptional capability to untangle complex issues and design practical, sustainable solutions under tight timelines.
  • Analytical Acumen - Advanced data interpretation skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.

  • Change Leadership - Strong change management and communication skills, fostering buy-in at all levels of the organization.
  • Technical & Domain Expertise - Deep understanding of Retail Banking products, channels, customer segments, and core banking systems. Knowledge of emerging technologies in Banking and Financial Services industry.
  • Qualifications, Experience

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business-related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Retail and Consumer Banking including senior transformation or operational roles
  • Track record of delivering digital initiatives, operational turnarounds, and multi-stakeholder programs at scale
  • Required Experience

  • Leadership and strategic vision, ability to align bank strategy with business unit strategies and ops plans
  • Proven track record in delivering strategic programs, digital initiatives, and operational turnarounds.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder landscapes.
  • Summary level knowledge of all areas of the bank, with detailed knowledge of Retail Banking
