About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the construction of heavy civils and major drainage systems / Sewerage Networks projects in Qatar.

Key responsibilities, but not limited to :

• The position is responsible for coordination of quantity surveying for preparation / reviewing of bills of quantities, rate analysis, and other commercial activities for the projects.
• The position is responsible for checking and certification of payments to the contractors.
• Contracts Management experience, including resolution of contractual matters.
• Experience in Contract types including : FIDIC and Government forms.
• Experience of working with Design‑Bid‑Build and Design and Build Contracts in particular or a working knowledge of the same.
• Provide recommendation in processing requests for variation, addendum, extension of time, claims etc. in accordance with Authority policies and procedures.
• Experience in preparatory construction project monthly valuation.
• Experience in assessing and evaluating Contractor’s claims.
• Good documentation of records.
• Must have experience to review, analyze, and recommend to the Authority in a written report, the comparative cost estimates, man‑hour estimates and proposed variation orders (PVOs).
• Experience to identify variances Cost together with reasons and proposed measures, if any, to rectify and / or mitigate the identified variances.
• He / She to develop and update monthly a cost system, which shows Project cash flow requirements; records of committed costs; anticipated costs remaining, and overall estimate cost to complete.
